Toby Cornish’s experimental film ‘Sarajevo Vertical’ caught the attention of myself and fellow student Fleur Isbell due to it’s experimental abstract feel which focused on structure, systems and space. Cornish is a graduate from Camberwell College of Art and the Royal College of Art in London

What appealed to me about this work was the repetition, fast editing and synchronicity with the music which seemed such an important aspect of the piece. As you continue to watch more is revealed to you, teasing you further along with glimpses of the same shot slowly progressing. All along the divide through the middle of the video is continuous, staying central to the frame but constantly expanding and contracting.
