During the early research stages of my Mirror project, I was thrilled to come across the work of Anish Kapoor, in particular a book focused on his four monumental works in Kensington Gardens ‘Turning the World Upside Down’.

‘Sky Mirror’ I found especially inspiring due to the scale of these installation pieces, they have a grand scale and weight about them as well as simplicity that strikes a chord even in the photographs. I can only imagine how immense they were to observe in reality.

‘Kapoor’s sculptures invite wonder, and thrill with simplicity that is akin to nature itself. On their polished surfaces, art and nature becomes fused as they are ‘coloured-in’ by the dramatic seasonal changes that will transform Kensington Gardens.’ – Mark Camley, Anish Kapoor, 2011.
